Micro-fine Cement for Soil Stabilization
One of the products injected for soil stabilization is DeNeef Microfine Cement Grout. The viscosity of the product is approximately 5 cps (example water = 1cps) with particle sizes of approximately 9.5 micron allowing the materials to easily permeate the subject soils, and after setup the product can produce approximately 1500 psi.
Permeation Grouting is a process used to improve or stabilize loose and/or shifting soils and is typically used in sandy soil conditions, as this type of soil is better suited to allow the grout to permeate more readily into the soil over a larger area. The technique consists of installing an injection pipe or probe into the ground, to a predetermined depth and then pumping a variety of liquefied materials into a soil and/or rock formations to fill voids encapsulate and solidify the surrounding soils into the zone(s) needing improvement. There are several techniques and materials used with this process and determining how the probes are installed, what type and size of probe is used and what material is used are all chosen by answering several questions such as; What is the desired or required results?; and What are the specifics of the repair being performed?
