StructureScan is the latest tool for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of concrete structures and provides the accurate concrete inspection results that contractors need. This compact system provides clear and reliable data, while remaining user-friendly at the same time. The StructureScan system is a quick and easy way to locate encased obstructions in concrete structures such as post-tension cables, conduit, and rebar prior to cutting or coring.

StructureScan can safely locates embedments within concrete structures up to a depths up to 18 inches. This system can be utilized to evaluate block walls for fill cells and reinforcing steel, post-tensioned decks, slabs on grade for reinforcing, and to located voids below slabs for remedial engineering repair. Only single sided access is required to perform surveys, and thousands of square feet can be inspected in one day.

Quickly locating imbedded objects or a target and its depth is effortless with the back up curser feature. The StructureScan hand cart is first rolled over the desired survey area (wall, floor or ceiling). When an object is spotted on the data screen, the user simply backs up the hand cart and marks the target. StructureScan provides immediate results when timing is crucial, with no need to close off work areas as with radiography.

Typical Uses of StructureScan Include:

  • Concrete inspection - locate metallic and non-metallic targets in walls, floors
  • Structure inspection - bridges, monuments, walls, towers, tunnels, balconies, garages, decks
  • Ceiling inspection
  • Condition assessment - map relative concrete condition for rehab planning for bridges and balconies
  • Measure slab thickness
  • Void location
